Residential Solar storage based on saltwater

The PV magazine reports increasing interest in the technology for saltwater-electricity storage systems of GREENROCK. The solar storage based on salt water is completely safe and environmentally friendly.

BlueSky Energy’s CEO Helmut Mayer gives detailed answers in an interview with PV magazine. He introduces the saltwater technology and solar storage system GREENROCK.

Among other things the following questions are answered:

How does saltwater technology work? What is the difference to conventional lithium-ion batteries?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of saltwater technology?

Which market potential has the residential solar storage based on saltwater compared to conventional power storage products?

You will find general information about solar storage in our blog post: What you should know about storing energy?

As mentioned in the interview, saltwater technology is as suitable for privat home storage as it is for commercial use. Systems up to several 100 kWh can easily be realized. One example is the GREENROCK storage system on an Austrian farm. During summer months the farmer can provide his stables selfsufficiently.

From June 20th to 22nd 2018 we are exhibiting at ees (Electrical Energy Storage) in Munich. Hall C1, booth 210 - visit us. We are looking forward to lots of interesting discussions.
