Cell production in Austria

Managing director Dr. Thomas Krausse speaks about the Austrian cell production.

“We are fascinated by the idea of a natural, environmentally friendly and safe battery technology.” Managing director Thomas Krausse states in the video. He talks about our motivation to establish cell production of the saltwater batteries in Europe. The production is moved from Asia to Austria.

Starting with autumn 2020 we produce the first Austrian cells. After testing and fine-tuning the production line we will start series production in the first quarter of 2021. Having our own production directly at our home base in Austria we established core experience in house.

Improvements in technology

With our local production in Europe we improve the saltwater technology. Till now the battery stacks were nearly one meter high and had a weight of 140 kg. Now we are able to produce them in smaller units. That makes transport and set-up much easier. Our staff and our partners in installation appreciate the improvements. “A battery unit will then be at 17,5 kg - which is a tremendous improvement.” To make that happen we had to work on the processing of electrodes. Investment model

In order to set up local cell manufacturing we are offering a model of participation. By June 2020 we funded 500.000 Euro with the help of investors looking for a green investment. Interested people, speaking German can still join. Learn more about the German contract and fundraising model.
